摘要:The election of more women to Canadian legislative assemblies raises a number of questions regarding the terminology used in what were formerly male institutions. On May 27, 1992, the Minister Responsible for Women's Issues in Ontario, Marion Boyd, initiated a debate on this topic. The discussion went beyond the issue of language and dealt with some essential features of the parliamentary approach to government including the purpose of question period, the role of the presiding officer, and the concept of parliamentary privilege.
