摘要:Although community-based tourism aims to contribute the local community, it also has positive and negative impacts on thelives of the community as it is apparent in all forms of tourism. The impacts may also influence residents’ perceptions, attitudes andsupport for tourism development in the destination. Accordingly, this study aims to examine relations among residents’ perceptions,attitudes and support for tourism development as the shareholders in a community-based tourism project, namely “100% Misia”,conducted in Misi Village, Bursa, under the partnership of United Nations Development Program, the Ministry of Culture and Tourismand a private Turkish company Efes Pilsen. A total of 437 responses were collected by convenient sampling and residents’ perceptions,attitudes and support for tourism development were analyzed to reveal any differences on the basis of respondents’ gender, residentialduration, employment of the respondent or any family members in tourism business, employment duration, perceived personalbenefits and perceived community benefits. Findings reveled that variables different from respondents’ gender have varying degrees ofinfluence on residents’ attitudes and support for tourism development.
