摘要：A circular economy is a regenerative system in which resource input and waste, emission, and energyleakage are minimized by slowing, closing, and narrowing material and energy loops. This can beachieved through long-lasting design, maintenance, and repair, reuse, remanufacturing, refurbishing,and recycling. This is contrast to a linear economy which is a 'take, make, dispose' model of production.Some scenarios show that in the near future competition will increase regarding the use of land, waterand biological resources as the effects of climate change, population growth, migration, economic andpolicy trends. For Romania's economy this new approach of economy (circular economy) can be a pathto economy development. This paper provides an overview of the circular economy in Europe, and thebenefits of it, and, we try to identify how the circular economy can contribute to sustainable developmentof SMEs in Romania.
