  • 摘要:Air pollution has become a growing problem in megacities and large urban areas throughout theglobe, and transportation is recognized as the major source of air pollution in many cities, especially in developingcountries. Contribution of automobiles is reported in the range of 40 to 80% of the total air pollution. The challengefacing megacities is how to reduce the adverse environmental impacts and other negative effects of transportationwithout giving up the benefits of mobility. This research paper includes the testing of biosignal ring developed byWellan International Limited for reduction of pollution levelsin petrol and diesel vehicles. The ring when attachedto the inlet of the engine acts on the fuel through biosignals. The biosignals help in atomization of the fuel andreduces the pollutants by further enhancing the combustion process, and thus reducing the unburnt pollutantparticles from the engine exhaust. The ring was tested on diesel and petrol engines. For diesel engine reduction insmoke was measured, while in the petrol engine parameters such as CO, CO2, SOx and NOx were measured beforeand after attaching the ring. The percentage reduction of the pollutants obtained from the ring for the diesel engineis about 16.4%, and in petrol engine, significant reduction in the pollutants is observed. If this device isincorporated in the vehicles, it can substantially reduce the pollution emitted from the vehicles and can evenincreases the efficiency of the engine.
