摘要：The first section of the paper explores the impact of manmade industries and automobiles on theatmosphere over past couple of centuries. The shift in the basic energy source from biomass to coal and other fossil fuelwhich lead to the industrial revolution and an unprecedented increase in the amount of greenhouse gases. Additionally,the text explores the main causes and effects of air pollution and the different methods for its prevention including windturbines, solar panels, bio fuels and biogas. Next we discuss about the viability of the biogas technology, its contentsand methods of production. The principle of anaerobic digestion and the four steps involved in the production ofbiogas( Hydrolysis , Acidogenesis, Acetogenesis and methanogenesis). Furthermore we discuss about the different usesfor this technology and its advantages. At last we find out how the biogas technology, if implied in large scale, can helpus cope with the current issue of air pollution along with solving several other environmental issues.
