摘要:A gearbox is a core component in rotating machinery and has been widely employed in variousindustrial equipment.An unexpected failure of the gearbox may cause significant economic losses. It is, therefore, veryimportant to find early fault symptoms from gearboxes. There are various methods to detect faults in gearbox.Vibration signal analysis is the main technique for monitoring the condition and detecting faults in a gearbox. Vibrationanalysis has been used as a predictive maintenance procedure and as a support for machinery maintenance decisions.By employing appropriate signal processing methods, changes in vibration signals caused by faults can be detected toaid in evaluating the gearbox’s health status. By measuring and analysing the machine’s vibration, it is possible todetermine both the nature and severity of the defect, and hence predict the machine’s failure. The vibration signal of agearbox carries the signature of the fault in the gears, and early fault detection of the gearbox is possible by analysingthe vibration signal using different signal processing techniques This paper gives a brief review on various techniquesused for analysing the faults of gearbox based on vibration analysis method with small insight on new approach usedfor diagnosis of gearbox such as Artificial Neural Network, fuzzy sets and some emerging technology in gear faultanalysis.
