  • 摘要:Tall building structures are being increasingly designed with structural system comprising of flat slaband shear wall. Flat plate slabs with shear walls would increase the carpet area, aesthetic appearance and reduce thetotal height of the building and would be cost effective as compared to flat slab with columns.Shear wall with flat plate gives stability to structure as well as improves lateral load resistance. To avoid failure andensure safety of these types of building structures soil-structure interaction (SSI) effects are considered. To incorporatethe effect of SSI on the building structures, mat foundation is considered and analysis is carried out using Winkler’ssoil model. This journal deals with a comparative study of re-entrant plan irregularity of the flat plate and shear wallbuildings (flat plate resting on shear walls). To include the dynamic effect of earthquake response spectrum analysis iscarried out for the structure using ETABs software.
