摘要:This study deals with compressive strength, slant shear strength and bond strength of Alkali ActivatedSlag Concrete (AASC) with steel. While taking same mix proportions of materials replacing cement with GGBScompletely, it can reach better results in above properties. This can be achieved by activating GGBS using alkaliactivators like NaOH and Na2SiO3.Achieving high bond strength between binding material and steel, high compressivestrength and high resistance to adhesive failures is imperative for any structure in order to increase load carryingcapacity and serviceability of the structure. Conventional concrete (CC) specimens of cubes and cubes with rodsinserted have been casted. AASC specimens with same proportions as CC mix are also casted. Compressive strength,slant shear strength and pull-out tests are conducted on these specimens. By comparing the results we can establish thefact that with more effort on researching the alkali activated slag concrete we can lower the carbon foot print anddecrease the usage of non-renewable resources which in turn increases the energy efficiency.
