摘要：The lips and mouth region are the main visual parts of the human speech system; these parts hold themost visual speech information. A few techniques have been recommended to perceive lip tracking with the focus onsegmentation of lip regions or extraction of lip contours. Commonly used approaches for lip tracking are Image-basedmethods. In the Image based methods a set of characteristic points are identified with the help of spatial cues such ascolor and edges. These types of methods are quite sensitive and ambiguous to the initial position of feature points. Thispaper reviews the various components of Image based techniques used in lip tracking.
