摘要:The usefulness of shear walls in the structural planning of multistory buildings has long beenrecognized. When walls are situated in advantageous positions in a building, they can be very efficient inresisting lateral loads originating from wind or earthquakes. Incorporation of shear wall has become inevitablein multi-storey building to resist lateral forces. The seismic motion that reaches a structure on the surface of theearth is influenced by local soil conditions. The subsurface soil layers underlying the building foundation mayamplify the response of the building to earthquake motions originating in the bedrock. Three types soil areconsidered here:Hard soil ,Medium soil, softsoil. In present work, Thirtystorey buildings with E shape shear wallsat the centre have been modeled using software package ETABS for earthquake zone V in India. This paperaims to study the behaviour of reinforced concrete building by conducting dynamic analysis for most suitedpositions and location of shear wall under different type of soil. Estimation of structural response such as; storeydisplacements, storey moment ,storey shear, storey drift ,Pier Forces, column forces is carried out. Dynamicresponses under zone V earthquake as per IS 1893 (part 1) : 2002 have been carried out. In dynamic analysis;Response Spectrum method is used.
