摘要:The demand to make this material lighter has challenged scientists and engineers alike. The challenge inmaking a lightweight concrete is decreasing the density while maintaining strength and without adversely effectingcost. One such alternative is coconut shell (cs), as coarse aggregate in the production of concrete. Even though coconutshell possesses several desirable properties, its relative low tensile strength and deformation properties prompted manyresearches to work on to improve these properties. One such development of improving or modifying the properties ofconcrete is by supplementing the mineral admixtures withcoconut shell concrete. Experimental investigations and analysis of results were conducted to study the compressiveand flexural strength behavior of concrete with varying percentage of mineral admixtures. The concrete mix adoptedwere m25 with varying percentage of mineral admixtures ranging from 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, 12%, 14%, 16%, 18%,20%, 22%, 24%, and 26%. On the analysis of result the concrete with mineral admixtures in coconut shell hadimproved performance as compared to the ordinary concrete.
