摘要：This paper presents a slightly modified version of a speech given to the Economic Societyof Australia’s ACT branch in Canberra in November 2017, as a keynote address at theorganisation’s annual general meeting. It considers the relationship between economics asa science, and ethical principles both as they guide the actions of practising economistsand as they arise in the surrounding social and political context in which economists plytheir trade.
