摘要:In a cloud computing environment, migrating operating system instances across distinct physical hosts is auseful tool for administrators of data centers and clusters: It allows a clean separation between hardware andsoftware, and facilitates fault management, load balancing, and low-level system maintenance. Live migrationallows moving a continuously running VM from one physical host to another. It provides special benefit for datacenters in a variety of scenarios including load balancing, maintenance and power management. Live migrationis of two types: (1) Pre-copy live migration and (2) Post-Copy live migration each having its own advantagesand disadvantages. In this report performance evaluation of post-copy live migration is presented along withproper mathematical modeling. This model can be used to estimate the Downtime, Resume Time and TotalMigration Time of a VM being transferred using post-copy live migration
