摘要:Recently proposed health applications are able to enforce essential advancements in thehealthcare sector. The design of these innovative solutions is often enabled through the cloudcomputing model. With regards to this technology, high concerns about information securityand privacy are common in practice. These concerns with respect to sensitive medicalinformation could be a hurdle to successful adoption and consumption of cloud-based healthservices, despite high expectations and interest in these services. This research attempts tounderstand behavioural intentions of healthcare professionals to adopt health clouds in theirclinical practice. Based on different established theories on IT adoption and further relatedtheoretical insights, we develop a research model and a corresponding instrument to test theproposed research model using the partial least squares (PLS) approach. We suppose thathealthcare professionals’ adoption intentions with regards to health clouds will be formed bytheir outweighing two conflicting beliefs which are performance expectancy and medicalinformation security and privacy concerns associated with the usage of health clouds. Wefurther suppose that security and privacy concerns can be explained through perceived risks.
