摘要：In Brazil, less than 20% of the population resides in the interior, an expressive number of people that generate a large volume of solid and liquid waste and therefore deserves a new look on the part of the community and mainly by the public agencies. Therefore the present work aims to identify through a bibliographical review technological and management strategies capable of dealing with the rural sanitation problem in the municipality of Caçador/SC. The study was carried out in the municipality of Caçador, located in the Alto Vale do Rio do Peixe, in the State of Santa Catarina. Through the study we can conclude that the management of effluent treatment in the rural area of the municipality of Caçador requires special attention from municipal management since it presents irregularities regarding the discharge of effluents and disposal of solid waste. Thus, the present study aims to show the importance of implementing the Rural Directorial Plan, which seeks to complement the Basic Sanitation Plan of the Municipality of Caçador - BSPMC through environmental guidelines that aim at reducing the environmental impact of rural sewage disposal.
