摘要：This research was conducted in a educational institution located in the city of Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo. The aim of this study was collect data about environmental aspects and impacts with the use of Analysis of Failure Modes and Effect (FMEA) tool, which allows the preparation of an action plan for continuous improvement and mitigate negative environmental impacts. The survey defined which are the major flaws in the processes that impact the environment and hinder environmental management at the institution in question and guidelines were indicated to improve environmental management, such as storage and proper disposal of fluorescent lamps, chemicals and other waste. The methodology used was efficient in relation to prioritization of actions to reduce the negative impacts of the activities evaluated.
