摘要:The objective of this study was to analyze microdermabrasion techniques for blasting and sanding through a survey of scientific articles found in indexed virtual libraries and textbooks. The microdermabrasion technique attacks the skin gently to promote re-epithelialization and consequently stimulate the synthesis of proteins necessary for skin health. The dermal remodelation results histologic changes in collagen, elastin and other extracellular matrix components. Molecular studies have shown that the technique provides increase epidermal thickness, decrease melanization, decrease basal cell liquefaction, increase thickness of dermis, increased collagen content, increase elastin content, vascular ectasia and mononuclear infiltrates. The molecular mechanisms associated with microdermabrasion techniques include activation of transcription factors, primary cytokines and matrix metalloproteinases, thus it was concluded no significant morphological and physiological differences between blasting or sanding microdermabrasion techniques.
