摘要:The study is aimed at investigating the impact of orientation and mobility (O&M)training as a part of the special education curriculum on the social adjustment ofvisually impaired children. The population consisted of visually impaired childrenbetween the ages of (5-15), studying at different special education institutes inPakistan was the assessable population for the study. A sample of 125 male andfemale visually impaired children from public and private special educationinstitutes of Islamabad, Pakistan were conveniently selected as a sample of thestudy. The study used two sub-dimensions of social adjustment, namely Self-Personality and Pro-social behavior, to be explored in terms of their relationshipwith orientation and mobility training. The results showed a significant relationshipbetween O&M training and social adjustment of children in terms of personalitywell-being and social interaction while with the others. The variables were foundto be correlated with each other. The results were in line with most of the previousresearch studies. The novelty of the study lies in selection of cultural context ofPakistan, which is a developing country and to date international standard trainingsand social care is not provided to the visually impaired at large.
