摘要：This article aim to identify the main phases of the construction of Portuguese Endocrinology in thefirst half of the 20th century. The Portuguese endocrinology has its roots in the laboratory studies of MarckAthias histophysiology school and his disciples, evolving into to clinical applications. During that period,many scientific and academical studies were made, the first doctor’s appointments were created, the firstspecialized journal were edited and the Portuguese Society of Endocrinology was finally created, what catapultedEndocrinology for the category of medical speciality.
