摘要：The article examines the coverage of the Irish bailout in the top two online newspapers in Spain, ElPaís.com and ElMundo.es. First, the text uses quantitative methods to determine which newspaper offered better coverage of the events in Ireland. Next, we rely on content analysis and the theory of frame analysis to establish the perspective from which each presented the Irish bailout and related it to the political and economic situation in Spain. The results obtained suggest that coverage was much better in ElPaís.com and, besides, the particularities of the Irish crisis complicated its use as a political weapon by either the government or the opposition in Spain and blurred the differences between the framing of the bailout in ElPaís.com and ElMundo.es.
