摘要:Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT)is prohibited by the major religions in the worldas it is not only a sheer violation of marriageinstitution but also disrespect for human being asit contradicts the very nature of man’s creation.The mental, emotional and physical completionof the human race is generally achieved throughthe combination of a male and a female. LGBThowever is based on a refutation of this obviousfact, and goes against the laws of procreation.While some countries have legalised LGBTmany still consider it abnormal, irrational,unethical and unacceptable to their religiousprinciples, culture and tradition. LGBT istotally against the Malaysian and Nigerianculture, tradition, belief, faith and religion.Malaysia has taken strict measure not to allowLGBT although some have contended that theprohibition of it infringes basic principles ofhuman rights. It is also a punishable crime bothunder syariah law. Having said the above, thispaper therefore discusses the ethical and legalissues surrounding the LGBT and the Islamicviewpoint on the LGBT sexual activities. Thesocial effect of LGBT to the institution ofmarriage is also discussed. Throughout thediscussion and analysis, the qualitative andquantitative methods were applied. The testsamples and data are taken from selectedMalaysia and Nigeria respectfully. In the end,useful suggestion and solutions were suggestedon the LGBT in the interest of society at large.
