摘要：The potential impact of the Internet on the members of academic communities demand for the services and resources of academic libraries is an issue of critical importance. The research reported in this article provides baseline data concerning the perception of librarians about the internet. The results showed, among other things, that the internet is a competitor with librarians. Suggestions are made on how librarians can take advantage of the shortcomings of the internet to continue to be relevant in information processing and dissemination in Nigerian academic libraries.
