摘要：Este artigo é fruto de uma pesquisa desenvolvida durante a elaboração de trabalho de conclusão do curso de Licenciatura em Matemática, cujo objetivo foi investigar a contribuição da metodologia Resolução de Problemas para introdução da notação algébrica. Para elaboração dos instrumentos de pesquisa e análise dos dados foi utilizada a concepção de produção de significado para a educação algébrica. O problema a ser investigado consistiu a determinação de uma configuração genérica para constituição de um quadrado mágico com três filas horizontais e três filas verticais, utilizando notação algébrica. A coleta de dados se deu a partir da experimentação de uma proposta didática, materializada num roteiro, com o objetivo de orientar o aluno na construção de notação algébrica para a configuração de um quadrado mágico3x3. A análise dos dados indicou que tal metodologia pode propiciar legitimidade e adequação da notação algébrica, possibilitando a construção de significado para a mesma, pelos alunos.
其他摘要：This article is the result of research carried out during the preparation of a monograph for the Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, whose objective was to investigate the contribution of the methodology Troubleshooting for introduction of algebraic notation. For preparation of the research instruments and data analysis, the conception of production of meaning for algebra education was used. The problem to be investigated was the determination of a generic configuration to form a magic square with three horizontal lines and three vertical rows, using algebraic notation. Data collection occurred from the trial of a didactic proposal, embodied in a script, in order to guide the student in the construction of algebraic notation for the configuration of a magic square 3x3. Data analysis indicated that this methodology can provide legitimacy and appropriateness of algebraic notation, allowing the construction of meaning to it, by the students.
