  • 其他摘要:Isolation of vegetable waste degrading bacteria was carried out using enriched medium of raw vegetable peels as substrate in sterile and non-sterile basal medium. Different soil samples were used as inocula. Degradation study was carried out in liquid medium with 5% substrate and neutral pH. Total 16 isolates were subjected to primary screening. Estimation of total sugar at an interval of 48 hours was selecting parameter. Eight isolates were selected for secondary screening. Isolate 16 recorded consistently maximum sugar concentration. All eight cultures gave zone on CMC and Tributryene agar plate with zone size: growth ratio ranging from 0.3 to 37.5. Apart from isolate 2, all were negative for caesease activity. Isolate 16 showed maximum CMCase activity of 5.05 IU/ml at pH 7.KEY WORD: Vegetable waste, Bacterial degradation, Enzyme activity.
