摘要：School Mental Health Promotion is a well recognized, institutionalized program in the developed countries [1]. However, in lower and middle income countries (LAMIC) which have a significant proportion of their population below the age of 15 years, it is not in place [2]. The following are some of the barriers for the implementation of school mental health program in LAMIC countries [1]. Main health goals are to improve child mortality rates and reduce communicable diseases [2]. Paucity of mental health resources - both in terms of infrastructure and man-power [3]. School enrolment and literacy not being a universal phenomenon covering all the children and adolescents, due to economic variability.
