摘要：Attachment to primary caregivers is crucial to both immediate and distal wellbeing of children. This attachment is determined by the synchronous interaction between caregiver and child. The aim of this study was to examine caretaker-child interaction and socio-emotional behaviour in early childhood. The sample consisted of 40 mentally and physically healthy children between the ages of 12 to 30 months and their mothers. The tools used for the study included a Semi-structured Interview Schedule, the Strange situation Paradigm, Laboratory Temperament Assessment Battery, and the Bayley Scales. Results indicated that 95 percent of the children were securely attached to their mothers. Association between caretaker-child interaction and socio-emotional behavior of children was noted.
