摘要：The effects of the changes in the exchange rates on the domestic prices are widely discussed during thelast two decades in Turkey. These studies mainly focus on detecting the presence of or measuring thedegree of exchange rate pass-through. However, this method has a limited explanatory power regardingthe interaction between exchange rate and real side of the economy. The paper scrutinizes the effectsof changes in exchange rates on the production costs and on the competitiveness of the manufacturingsectors. The results confirm that the share of imported inputs in total inputs and the profits gained fromDollar-Euro parity changes are important determinants of the competitiveness of the Turkishmanufacturing.
