摘要:Human resource management (HRM) practice and knowledge of thefactors that impact on the practice in Nigeria has become increasinglycritical to the way businesses are operated in the country andultimately the success of the business. Consequently the paper aims toexamine if the application of proactive human resource managementin recruitment and selection of employees enhances the performanceof the selected privatized organizations. Survey design was used for thestudy. Eighty nine Privatized organizations formed our population.Thirty one organizations with 71 291 staff were sampled for the study.From the 71 291 staff, 653 served as respondents for the study. Datawas collected by questionnaire structured on a 4 point Likert scale. Tteststatistics revealed that the application of proactive humanresource management in recruitment and selection has neitherenhanced employee competencies nor enhanced the capacity of thePrivatized organizations to engage in global business competition
