摘要:This research aims at manipulating a clinic's website todetermine whether the number of website visitors iscorrelated with the number of patients as human behaviourchanges.By regularly updating the website of a particular clinic under studywith medical content, thereby creating a means of verticalcommunication between prospective patients and the medical staff.Website indicator statistics included data on the number of pageviews, and new/returning/local website visitors. The website usagedata were collected over a period of 20 months.A significant year-on-year increase in patient count was positivelycorrelated to all monthly website indicators except website visitorlocality. The actual number of new patients after website interventionwas 1.23 times larger than the number of patients estimated usingdata from the past decade. This method of website update may alsohave a positive effect on the vertical communication betweenprospective patients and the medical staff.
