摘要：Project management is a strategic competency that enablesentities to link project success to business goals. Global Fund isa public-private partnership and international financinginstitution dedicated to attracting and disbursing additional resourcesto prevent and treat HIV and AIDS, TB and malaria. Every project isalways constrained with resources that determine projectmanagement process and success. SSF/ HIV project is an example of aproject in which project management process determines the success.The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of projectmanagement processes on the success of SSF/ HIV project. The studywas guided by four research objectives namely: to determine theinfluence of project initiation and planning process on project success;to examine the influence of project execution process on projectsuccess; to investigate the influence of monitoring and controlling ofprojects on project success. Descriptive survey research design wasadopted for the study. The target population of the study was 110respondents. Random sampling technique was employed for the studyto select the respondents. Questionnaires with close-ended questionswere used to collect data. The collected data was analyzed using SPSS.The study findings revealed that project planning process, projectexecution process and project monitoring positively and significantlycorrelated to project success (r=0.279, 0.762, 0.236). The P values forall the variables was less than 0.05 (p<0.05) indicating the relationshipbetween the study variables is significant. The study suggests theintroduction of effective monitoring tools; training of staff on use ofmonitoring tools; use of effective communication and improvedreporting and documentation in order to improve the monitoring andcontrol process.
