摘要：The interest in this research arises from the teaching experience in the subject of Design Workshop at the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the University of Los Andes and my work as a researcher in the Research Group on Urban Environmental Quality (GICAU, in its Spanish initials: Grupo de Investigación en Calidad Ambiental Urbana). We aim to develop in detail the fourth phase of the Urban Architectural design method created by the GICAU. Since the architectural design process is complex and changing, there is a need to produce guidelines available to students for day-to-day consultation during their professional training. They have the purpose to focus on the architectural design process from the perspective of sustainability as a guarantor of mankind survival and teach the craft of an architect. Therefore, the guidelines are structured into eight successive phases that include the approach of a problem, the consideration of standards, the conceptualization and formal proposal, the functional analysis, the technical and constructional decisions and the modelling of the final project. All these phases allow to easily tackle an architectural design task.
