摘要：Background:Obesity in adolescents has been difficult to treat. Preliminary evidence has demonstrated the effectiveness of residential treatment programs in producing weight loss, although the optimal method for this type of program is unknown. Method: Five students, (13-17 years old) participated in a residential health and wellness program for the treatment of obesity. Results: Significant improvement in BMI, cardiovascular and strength indicators and attention was found as well as uniform indication of satisfaction with the program in teaching skills for maintenance of weight loss and healthy lifestyle. Discussion: This study adds to the evidence that residential weight-loss programs may be effective in improving the health and fitness of obese adolescents and provides preliminary evidence for the effectiveness of this type of program in the treatment of obese adolescent
