  • 摘要:Introduction: A sick person who trusts his or herphysician feels safer and more easily complies withthe physician’s recommendations.Purpose: To validate to validate a Greek-languageversion of the Trust in Physician Scale (TPS) forGreek patients.Materials and Methods: The validation of aGreek-language version of the TPS was performedwith a group of 251 patients at Kavala Hospital inKavala, Greece. Validation consisted of thetranslation and evaluation of the psychometricproperties of the Greek TPS and its applicationamong Greek-speaking patients. Results: The internal consistency of the Greek TPSwas high (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.895). The highestmean scores were for the items “I trust my doctorvery much, and I always try to follow his or heradvice” (M = 3.63 ± 0.91), “If my doctor tells methat something is true, then it must be true” (M =3.55 ± 0.89), “I trust my doctor’s judgment of mymedical care” (M = 3.44 ± 0.86), and “My doctor isusually considerate of my needs and puts themfirst” (M= 3.41 ± 0.88).Conclusions: The Greek-language version of TheTrust in Physician Scale fulfills all of the criteria ofpsychometric and functional validation with theoriginal scale.
