摘要：Data deduplication is not only becoming an essential backup system component, because it reduces storagespace requirements, but also a critical one, since the performance of all the backup operation depends onstorage throughput. This paper is focused on the backup data volume ratio of deduplication when stored infile systems with this feature, and how a newly developed volume format can improve it. Bacula backupsoftware is currently the third most popular backup software worldwide and it’s also open source,therefore selected to this performance analysis study. Corresponding to the results, it is possible to verifythat the proposed Bacula aligned backup format brings gains of 82%, even for a workload that emulates arelatively small backup policy and with minimum impact on backup or restore times.
