摘要：The focus of the discourse on literacy and basic education is primarily on offering literacy courses and promoting reading and writing. This article discusses the conceptual framework, goals and relevance of three additional areas of content: finance, politics and health. The authors bring together previously existing didactic concepts, individual projects and offerings from the German-speaking world. In conclusion, they call for further development of the areas of content of basic education. This would provide the opportunity to develop new strategies for reaching target groups, to find new learning venues and to develop a new culture of learning in basic education. (Ed.)
