摘要:This study aimed to examine executive function in preschool-age children with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). Eighteen children with NF1 aged 3-6 years were matched to 37 healthy controls by age, gender and parental education. Both groups were administered three executive tasks (Sun-moon Stroop, Corsi blocks, preschool Brixton). To examine the relationship between executive function and intellectual ability, children with NF1 were administered WPPSI-III, whereas healthy controls underwent Cubes and Information subtests. Preschool-age children with NF1 performed significantly less well than healthy controls on many executive function tasks, independently from the slight intellectual level decline noted. The results highlight the importance of early executive function assessment in children with NF1.
