摘要:Destination memory refers to the ability to remember the destination to whom a piece of information was addressed ( e.g. : “did I send the email about that conference to my colleague X or Y”?). Destination memory can be considered as an episodic component that enables associations between information and its episodic context. In this review, we describe and summarize recent empirical research that demonstrates how destination memory can be affected in normal aging as well as in neurological and psychiatric disorders. We also emphasize how destination recall can be influenced by cognitive and social processing. By doing so, we place destination memory at the junction between memory and social cognition. We specifically demonstrate how research on episodic memory and social cognition can be intertwined.
