摘要：Marginal productivity is not usually of great interest to morphologists, but in this paper I argue that it is of vital importance in the way in which morphology can be exploited in a language – even if it is not always easy to draw the line between marginally productive and unproductive. In particular I look at patterns of verb- Ablaut, and raise an important problem for descriptive linguists and psycholinguists alike.
