摘要：Este artículo es producto de un estudio etnográfico con mujeres usuarias de pasta base de cocaína, atendidas al momento de parir en un hospital público en Montevideo, Uruguay. El trabajo se enfoca en los vínculos que ellas sostienen con la institución sanitaria, asimismo, en las relaciones entre las intervenciones institucionales y las moralidades de género dominantes. Lo relevado permite sostener que el Estado tiene una presencia fuerte pero irregular en sus trayectorias vitales, pues durante el embarazo es ineficiente para protegerlas, además, luego del parto, asedia con requerimientos que resultan extremadamente difíciles de cumplir: con cada maternidad el Estado imita los procesos de algunos padecimientos que se tornan cíclicos.
其他摘要：This article is the result of an ethnographic study of women who used cocaine base paste and who gave birth to their babies in public hospitals in Montevideo, Uruguay. It points out the ties they have with the healthcare institution and the relations between institutional interventions and the dominant gender morality. The results show that the State has a strong, but irregular, presence in their life pathways; during pregnancy it is unable to protect women and then following birth it is strict with very difficult requirements; reinstating with each new pregnancy processes of ailments which become cyclical.
