摘要：Traditionally, Rousseau has been regarded as a Protestant thinker close to the most liberal Calvinist sectors as well as Socinianism, and also as one of the most vigorous defenders of tolerance and freedom of conscience. However, an in-depth analysis of his works reveals disturbing streaks of intolerance towards atheists, Catholics and women, all of which cast doubt on his standing among the most tolerant authors of this time.
