摘要:The article analyzes the contribution of Julián de Luna y de la Peña to the debate about the increase of pauperism in the early stages of the liberal revolution, which has been associated with the term “Social Question”. This contribution is summarized in his Tratado de Economía Política , an unpublished document elaborated in the first half of 19th century, which has come to our days thanks to its conservation by his grandson, the astronomer and writer Mario Roso de Luna. In dealing with this issue, Julián de Luna was deeply influenced by Malthus’ contributions to the Poor Laws and their negative implications for wealth generation; also by Alvaro Flórez Estrada’s thought on private property of the land, aspects that underlie the main substrate of the author’s thinking regarding the process of wealth generation.
