摘要：Este artigo apresenta discussão sobre as bases teóricas da Psicopedagogia e considera o papel do psicopedagogo diante do sofrimento de mães de filhos com necessidades educacionais especiais. As ideias contidas neste artigo resultaram de discussões teóricas a partir de pesquisa sobre a atuação do psicopedagogo frente a crianças deficientes mentais na relação com suas mães. Finaliza concluindo que cabe ao psicopedagogo em determinadas situações acolher a angústia materna provocada quando se deparam com um filho diferente daquele que imaginavam ou esperavam.
其他摘要：This article presents discussion on the theoretical foundations of Educational Psychology and considers the role of psychopedagogists to the suffering of mothers of children with special educational needs. The ideas in this article resulted from discussions from theoretical research into the work of psychopedagogists front of mentally handicapped children in the relationship with their mothers. Ends psychopedagogists concluding that it is for the host in certain situations the anguish caused by maternal.
