  • 摘要:In this paper we aim to search into the potential of the French discourse analysis regarding social problems which are relevant to education within the contemporary context. To do so, we have elected for our analysis the fact which took place at a public school in the city of Realengo – RJ in 2011, involving a former student of the institution. For the analysis corpus we presented a set of texts published on the newspaper “Folha de São Paulo” from April 08th to 23rd, 2011. We have focused on how the discourses from and about the ex-student and the school were presented on the media, calling for social images and producing certain sense effects.
