摘要:In this article we have proposed to analyse the training policies aimed at labour market integration for immigrants in the city of Barcelona. Making use of the proposal by Chris Shore and Susan Wright (1997) to develop an anthropology of policy, we have identified the specifications of the ideal characteristics that immigrants are expected to display. In other words, we have identified recurring requests for attenuation or elimination of cultural particularities, which supposedly have a negative impact on labour market integration, as well as the recommendation that immigrants always show themselves to be actively seeking work. We have also recognised processes involving downgrading of the knowledge that immigrants have and their consequent “differential inclusion” in the segmented labour market.
