摘要：In the Preface to this book, Sparrow traces its original impetus back to a former professor’s suggestion that he in due course publish a “pamphlet-style polemic called, perhaps, Against Phenomenology” (p. ix), and in the concluding chapter he expresses the hope that readers will not find it “too crass” if he ends the book with the “same spirit of polemic with which I began” (p. 185).
