摘要：This working paper aims to identify Turkish-German economic relationship of foreign direct investment and patents in line with the Turkish-German collaboration project (TGIN). In this paper, econometric methods such as correlation, regression and Granger causality to analyze the effect of German FDI inflow to Turkey on total foreign-based patent applications for the period from 1999 to 2011. The results justify the relationship between patents and FDI. The reciprocity between patent applications and FDI is more remarkable for Turkish-German interaction via flow of FDI and patents. German-based FDI fosters patent applications faster with respect to foreign-based FDI to patent transformation.
