摘要:Textbooks are still a leading didactic resource in history teaching. Their use persists in Primary and Secondary Education despite the countless educational reforms that have come about in the last hundred and fifty years. This paper analyses their extent, structure and changes over time. A growing number of studies have been written from a Spanish or Portuguese perspective, and this paper intends to understand their parallel evolution and compare them. Different historiographical and pedagogical views that have shaped the evolution of educational curricula are analysed. We also reflect on the historical contents of textbooks, especially national narratives.
