摘要:This article focuses on the evolution and change of social movements. The central thesis is that the success of social movements provokes the corporatization of their organizational structures, so they assimilate the logic that is typical of formal organized interest groups. In order to develop this central thesis, the author analyzes the case of MMAL (Movement of Agricultural Women), a NGO that was created in Argentina in the nineties to respond to the incapacity of traditional farmers'unions to solve the problem of farmers' debt burden. The singularity of the MMAL is that its leaders are women (wives of landowners), although it is not a feminist movement, and they use strategies cióse to those of social movements. After six years of strong social movilizations, the MMAL has undergone an important process of corporatization, obtaining recognition as a relevant interlocutor of the govemment.
