摘要：The importance of irrigation systems for the agrarian sector is already recognized. The economic efficiency of irrigation is already understood both at the state level and at the level of economic agents. The research highlights the current situation regarding the training of workforce specialized in irrigation, indicates the needs in labour force in this field and specifies the set of skills that the workforce needs to have in this respect. Specific professional competencies are divided into three major categories: irrigation systems design skills, construction and assembly of irrigation systems’ skills and irrigation systems exploitation skills. Competencies are detailed at the level of theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
