摘要：Both scientific literature and the most recent clinical practice highlight the growing interest in the application of animal-assisted therapy, especially, in improving the mental health of pediatric patients. This review provides a theoretical framework in which the concept aat is defined and it highlights the benefits listed in reference publications. In addition, it presents the history of this type of complementary therapy and the possible theoretical underpinnings of clinical use in older people, adults with different mental diseases and children.
